My Steam Autumn 2026 Sale Haul

Do you think Gabe looks at Steam sales as a bank holiday? ‘Cause sure as shit, he walked away with some serious coin. It can’t be cheap keeping his floating armada on the water. Well, my conscience is clear. I did my part and donated to the Steam coffers.

I’m still neck-deep in my love affair with shmups, bullet heavens, and bullet hells. Work, life, middle age, whatever it is, sometimes you’re just not up for a deep dive into a serious game. But I always have 10–15 minutes to suck badly at whatever shmup is tormenting me.

What was my decision-making process when selecting these titles, you ask? Well, I have a lengthy Steam Wishlist that I’m constantly adding games to and removing them from. My usual strategy is to look at the cheapest games first.

I don’t know why, but as far back as I can remember, I’ve always tried to stretch a dollar as far as it’ll go. Meaning, I’ve also gravitated toward quantity over quality. Go figure.

Whether it was baseball cards, toys, or records, I’d rather buy 15–20 mediocre-to-good things than one great item. I’d never plunk my money down for that one precious rookie card when I could have a box full of commons. I know, it makes no sense.

I’m not sure what that says about me, but it’s just how I roll.

Okay, off the therapy chair and back to the sale. I picked up a good mix of older shmups like Truxton and Truxton 2, along with some newer bullet heaven titles like Night Swarm and Army of Ruin. I’m eager to try out some games I took a chance on, like Endless Rails, VOIDFACE, and Antivirus Survivors 2003 Professional.

I’ve already kicked around Exo-Calibre and ZPF, and failed miserably. As is always the case with my buying tendencies, I quickly move on to what I didn’t get, and I’m slightly pissed I spaced on picking up Project Neon. Next sale, I’ll make it a priority.

Well, hopefully you all got some good deals. And can someone tell me how many days until the Winter Sale?
