Hey, welcome to almost the weekend! Friday is the day when everyone does their best to make it to the end of the week as stress-free as possible, especially with this being a holiday weekend in the US.
So yeah, Anbernic is doing its part to ease us into some relaxing, cozy gaming time by adding another log to the fire of the 2026 Clamshell Wars.
Without further ado, behold the RG DDS!
Earlier today, Anbernic released an official teaser for the RG DDS (Dream Dual-Screen). Their latest offering is a dual-screen handheld. Stop me if you’ve heard this before.
The RG DDS features a 4.7-inch upper display with a 5:3 aspect ratio and 1200 × 720 resolution, alongside a 4-inch lower display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 960 × 720 resolution. Both screens offer true 3× integer scaling for Nintendo 3DS games, matching the original displays’ aspect ratios.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 processor, paired with an Adreno A22 GPU (reportedly equivalent to the Adreno 735), with Turnip driver support also being reported.
Other features include a 6,000mAh battery, an integrated retractable stylus, front-facing speakers, and a new vibration system.
Are we really going to call this thing the double-DS!? Anyways, it’ll come in three colors: Blue, Black, and White.
No pricing, release date, or RAM and storage configurations have been announced yet.
