AYN Teases the Odin 3 Portal

Like many in the handheld space, I awoke today to news of a new handheld announcement. I know, I’m slack-jawed too, and unsure how I’ll put one foot in front of the other.

AYN has officially teased the AYN Odin 3 Portal on its Discord server and via an Instagram post today. While not many details have been revealed, AYN did use phrases like “Flagship Power” and “Precision Control.”

As one would expect, the Odin 3 Portal looks very similar to its predecessor, the Odin 2 Portal. One could surmise that AYN is sticking with its tried-and-true larger, widescreen handheld design rather than introducing a radical departure.

No other details have emerged as of this morning. However, the existing Odin 3 uses Qualcomm’s Dragonwing Q8, a modified Snapdragon 8 Elite-class processor. Therefore, it would make sense for the Portal to use similar hardware, but AYN has not confirmed its chipset.

The original Odin 2 Portal features a 7-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and 8,000mAh battery. It’s a larger version of the standard Odin 2 without sacrificing processing power.

Will AYN follow the same formula? And, as always, who is this device actually for?

With the rapid advancements in playing PC games on Android devices, the Odin 3 Portal could appeal to those looking to play their games on the biggest display possible with the latest and greatest processing power. Of course, we’ll have to wait for the actual specifications before knowing what kind of performance to expect.

Lastly, what about price? The Odin 3 has experienced multiple price increases throughout 2026. Android Authority suggests the Portal could exceed $400, although that’s speculation rather than an announced price. The current Odin 3 ranges from $369 to $529, depending on the model.

More news, details, and specifications will undoubtedly emerge in the days and weeks ahead. Because if there’s one thing this hobby needs, it’s another handheld to obsess over.
