Well, you knew it was just a matter of days, if not minutes, before Anbernic released the details. Having them leak early through an AliExpress storefront is certainly one way to go about it, even if it probably wasn’t intentional.
Now, we know these things are subject to change, but let’s take the information at face value. The RG DDS will reportedly come in two configurations. The base model features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $299.99, while the higher-end model doubles the storage to 256GB and increases the RAM to 12GB for $364.99.
Both configurations will reportedly receive a $15 preorder discount, bringing their prices down to $284.99 and $349.99, respectively. Of course, those prices could climb significantly once you factor in shipping costs. Be prepared to spend close to $400 USD for the higher-end model when all is said and done.
My fake lawyer wants you to know: These prices are based on retailer information and have not yet been officially confirmed by Anbernic.

For those discerning shoppers out there, are you getting the RG DDS, or have you already plunked down your money for the Retroid Pocket Duo? Below is a handy table highlighting some of the key differences.
The biggest differences between the RG DDS and Retroid Pocket Duo come down to their displays and price. The Pocket Duo starts at $269 and offers larger, 120Hz AMOLED screens, while the RG DDS reportedly starts at $299.99 and features smaller IPS displays with screen proportions better suited for 3DS emulation.
Both offer active cooling and 6,000mAh batteries, but the RG DDS includes a built-in stylus and a higher-end configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Pocket Duo offers more screen real estate for less money, while the RG DDS leans more heavily into the dual-screen 3DS experience.
