While PC gamers have been enjoying Shockwave Triggers on Steam for some time, today is the day console gamers get their shot.
Even shmups need a story, right? Do they? Well, Shockwave Triggers is a vertically scrolling shoot ’em up where you can choose between two pilots. Your options are the fast and versatile Amira, whose crystal-sensitive sister has been kidnapped, or the slower but more powerful Turbo B, a mechanic on a mission to take down the supreme leader of the WW Army!
The game features anime-style cutscenes and six unique stages of bullet hell action, all accompanied by a fitting soundtrack. During gameplay, players collect crystals from destroyed enemies, unleash shockwaves that turn incoming projectiles into gems, deploy super attacks, and upgrade their ships with character-specific armaments.
Shockwave Triggers launches on October 14 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S for $14.99. Publisher eastasiasoft has confirmed a 10% launch discount on select platforms for the first two weeks.
Originally released on PC on October 21, 2025, Shockwave Triggers is currently available on Steam for $9.99. The game was last discounted in July 2026, when its price dropped to $6.99.
