We live in tranquil times, where the world is at peace, right? So why not throw it back to some vintage WWII shmup action? Okay, that was an oversimplification of the shitstorm that is our current hellscape, but we can still have fun and kick it old-school.
Released on September 25 by Ruttsoft is Raiders 1941. I just added the demo to my library. Hint: go do the same. On the surface, this looks like a game inspired by classics such as Strikers 1945 and 1942. Once I get some playing time under my gunner, I’ll confirm that assumption one way or the other.
By the looks of the trailer on its Steam page, Raiders 1941 is a classic-looking vertical shooter with TATE support and refresh rates up to 120Hz. Reading through some of the developer’s posts on Reddit, the game took 16 months to develop and was made using GameMaker.
Raiders 1941 is currently on sale for $8.99 for the next 24+ hours, with a regular price of $9.99.
