Yes, you read that right, its 2026 and there are still developers out there making games for systems like the SEGA Master System. Released on September 8 is Razing Core Bad Computer.
While I haven’t tested this out yet on the Retroid Pocket Nova, a post on BlueSky caught my eye, and therefore, I wanted to tell you about Razing Core now. It’s a vertically scrolling shooter that has seven stages, upgradeable weapons, a five-level Burst Charge, multiple bosses, boss checkpoints and infinite continues.
You can buy Razing Core now for the SEGA Master System and Mark III console. The game is $7.99 on itch.io. A physical release is planned for 2027. When you buy Razing Core, you are buying the actual Sega Master System ROM. The game is distributed as a Sega Master System ROM for use with an emulator, FPGA device or real hardware.
